You can find fashion wherever you find women, and this was no different at the Women’s March on Washington. Thousands of women [and others] showed up and marched in solidarity for women’s rights and a host of other issues that affect historically marginalized communities. While frustration and passion brought marchers to D.C., style and humor still prevailed.
The pink “pussycat” hats (a response to Donald Trump’s Access Hollywood comments revealed months earlier) dominated the fashion at the march. Shades of bubblegum, watermelon, taffy, and fuscia painted Independence Avenue. Women and girls from all over came out in statement pieces—literally. From the hats to the signs, to the full on costumes, women always find a way to use fashion to get a point across. Check out some of the photos below:
