Wedding Salon’s Bridal Event
Trend Spotting: Wedding Salon’s Bridal Event
At Wedding Salon’s Bridal event, vendors for gowns, make up, rentals, and venues presented their best of the best to thousands of visitors. Whether you were looking for unique bridal accessories, the right cocktails to serve, or were planning a destination wedding, this event had a booth for you. While parusing the aisles, dozens of bridal and bridesmaids gowns caught my eye.
First, a collection of pastel bridesmaids dresses. Now, before you have flashbacks to hideous bridesmaids dresses you’ve worn in the past, I’ll let you know these were nothing of the sort. Designer Jenny Yoo has created the Nabi convertible dress to fit every bridesmaid’s figure. The Annabelle Nabi dress has beautifully rouched tulle and is offered in a variety of ethereal colors, from seafoam green to eggplant purple.
Afterwards, I stopped by Glamour Closet – the sample discount store for brides in the know. When speaking with one of their associates, I asked what her clients had been asking for most in recent months. It seems that vintage, romantic styles are in high demand. Imagine the gowns worn by Grace Kelly, Jacqueline Kennedy, and Elizabeth Taylor; for 2015, among the biggest bridal trends are A-line skirts, long sleeves, and lots of lace.
Next I found dresses by designer Yumi Katsura. Stumbling across one of her dresses on a manequin, I was entranced. A simple mermaid dress became an art piece with a dramatic rhinestone bolero (of sorts). With classic silhouettes and intricate embelishment, this look will impress at any wedding.
My last stop was M&J Bridal Salon. Their display featured a number of head pieces and hair combs. From headbands a la Kim Kardashian’s first wedding, to Gatsby-esque feather combs, accents other than veils are an emerging trend for 2015.
