L*SPACE by Monica Wise presented Resort & Spring 2015 collections of swim and apparel during a private runway show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim and its 10th Anniversary celebration in Miami Beach on Saturday, July 19 at The Raleigh Hotel in Miami Beach. The theme The Water is Waiting was carried throughout all elements of the show, from the deconstructed runway emulating water, to the styling of each model adding accessories reminiscent of seaweed with pearls for the hair or draped as a necklace, to scale-like tattoos custom made by Flash Tattoos, like a mermaid emerging from the water.
Best known for its flirty yet functional silhouettes, Wise expands the line giving women transitional pieces that can also be incorporated into one’s existing wardrobe. The Swim collection is available to mix-and-match with bralette, bandeau, halter, racer back and triangle style tops that can be paired with classic, itsy bitsy, hipster or full coverage bottoms. For the conservative chic, L*SPACE continues to modernize the traditional one-piece with options from a blouson bandeau style to a slim fit with sexy cutouts. The collection of Wise’s apparel line introduces staple pieces for year round including tunics, caftans, maxi dresses, rompers, sweater knits, pants and shorts in lace, rayon, crochet, linen and spandex. Worn alone or paired with your favorite bikini, the overall brand pays close attention to detail by incorporating lace, gold hardware, cutouts and its infamous fringe to a range of watercolor and tribal prints as well as bright pastels including shades of green, blue, purple, yellow and pink.
This year, L*SPACE by Monica Wise teamed up with JONATHAN PRODUCT and lead stylist Jonathon Powell to perfect the sleek and sexy “wet look” as models walk the ocean-inspired runway. Stila Cosmetics and lead makeup artist, Sarah Lucero also return this season, who provided the perfect opportunity to add a fresh from the water, dewy glow using their new summer launches of waterproof liquid eye liners, convertible color and lip glaze.
Poko Pano’s Summer 2015 collection embodies Rio de Carnival meets Miami and launches at a perfect time, as Brazil celebrated this years FIFA World Cup. “I wanted to translate the joy and pride that one feels to be Brazilian, especially with the many history-making activities taking place in our backyard,” says Robba. “By capturing that passion, we will be sure to leave a memorable mark in the hearts of onlookers.”
The overall collection is inspired by the country’s spirit including its history, nature and religion, which are reflected through the prints of fruit, amulets, flowers as well as the season’s vibrant colors. Expanding the apparel line this year to include skirts, pants and kaftans, Poko Pano returns with its signature bikini and one-piece silhouettes in high quality Lycra.
