Spring Summer preview -Gap at NY fashionweek
Fall Into the Gap with Flavorpill- ss2014 Spring Preview!
As a fashion writer, you have to keep your ear to the streets in order to gather those precious invitations. One good source of info is Flavorpill, a kind of event newsletter. They do things like Absolut Lunch Break, gallery openings, outdoor yoga classes, and in this case- a party at casual basics giant the Gap.
Floral installations by Flour decorated the epitome of American style. The look is sport ready, fashion aware but independent of trends, and approachable. From its discount store origins in the 70s, to their rebranding as an iconic (and pricey) ‘it’ label in the 90s, the Gap has revealed itself as timeless and reliable. The cut of the clothing has evolved from boxy tshirts to sweatshirts that drape gracefully instead of making you look schlubby.
