Open Market – Meatpacking District Improvement Association
Once again the Meatpacking District Improvement Association (MPIA) held their Open Market event Monday 12th at Highline Stages. Perfect night for it too with great weather unlike last year’s snow storm. Wrap queen Diane von Furstenberg and two handsome men, Theory founder, Andrew Rosen and CEO, premier hotelier, Andre Balzacs served as hosts for the evening. MPIA donated 100% of proceeds from ticket sales to the marketing, beautification and outreach activities aimed at improving the Meatpacking area and visitor experience. Neighborhood unity was is always the theme.
Open Market was a full night with DJs Chelsea Leyland and Elle Dee spinning, food and drink samplings from area restaurants and bars such as Buddakan, Bagatelle, Morimoto, SoHo House, Spice Market and The Standard Grill and sample sales and shopping events from locals Alice + Olivia, Jay Godfrey, Intermix and von Furstenberg’s DVF as well as Rebecca Taylor, Tory Burch and Vince. Adding to the night’s fun was a very flexible dance troop and silent auction.
