AGTA American Gem Trade Association* Spectrum 2016 Award winners
The American Gem Association held it’s annual press day Monday October 26th at Ramscale Studio penthouse. To honor excellence in Jewelry design and Lapidary, from designers in and around the USA whose work utilizes natural colored gemstones and cultured pearls.
The day was perfect and clear. With the statue of Liberty as the back drop and the sun gleaming through the penthouse windows. It was a perfect day for gem watching. The Gem awards is jewelry’s version of fashion week. Taking it’s cues from the fashion runway, the gem awards identifies coming trends in color and design. Each piece was a master piece. The categories were many, from best in color to fashion forward. There was something for everyone.
Awards are judged on the basis of overall beauty, wearability, innovative design and use of materials, quality of gemstones and workmanship, and broad-based consumer appeal with the potential to generate positive publicity for natural colored gemstones.
